Tangerine Little Girl Dress

This is my second dress from this pattern, and it's becoming a favorite.
I love how it showcases a favorite fabric, is cool for the summer but not spaghetti strapped, and it goes together so quickly!  The only change I made is adding two more panels to the skirt back.  Without the two extra panels, the top of the skirt is narrower than the bodice where it's supposed to match up...before gathering the sides and adding the elastic to the back.
Pattern:  Anne Marie Horner
Size:  12~18 months

Matching dress and ties

A friend is attending a graduation this summer and wanted a dress for her seven-year-old daughter and matching ties for her two sons.  She did a great job of picking the fabric...the ties and skirt are linen and the dress bodice is a cream-colored knit.  The dress went together very quickly, and the ties...oh the ties!  I've made ties before with a pattern found online...and I spent hours measuring and pressing and then measuring and pressing again.  Last week, I came across Simplicity 4762 and decided to give it a try.  It was super simple to work with, and the ties turned out beautifully.  I was glad it was so simple when she requested a third tie for her nephew.

Conveniently, the little girl and my daughter are just about the same size, so it was
easy to make it to fit.
